Thankfully, the CPU and chipset of the Galaxy S Blaze 4G, unlike the rest of its hardware, have not remained in 2010. The smartphone packs Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 silicon with two Scorpion cores, clocked at 1.5GHz. Throw in NFC connectivity, and we are looking at a seriously capable, 2012 mid-range smartphone. As far as specifications and looks are concerned, the Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G appears to be mostly a shrunken copy of one of T-Mobile’s Android flagships – the Samsung Galaxy S II. The leaked specs of the LG Lucid 4G mark the second LTE-enabled LG phone rumor for the day. The Lucid 4G (also known as Cayman) is a Gingerbread droidof the mid-range variety that is heading to Verizon. The time when the phone was publicly announced. Sometimes it takes months or even a year for the phone to reach the market. Again this is the time the phone was ANNOUNCED, not RELEASED.

The seemingly Gingerbread-powered Lucid 4G will indeed sport an unnamed1.2GHz processor, 8GB of internal memory, and a 4-inch WVGA NOVA display swathed in a protective layer of Gorilla Glass. Oh, and who could forget its support for Verizon’s 4G LTE network, and the ability to share that high-speed connection with up to 10 additional devices. All of that (plus a 1700 mAh battery) is going to be crammed into a frame that’s .45-inches (11.4mm) thick and a 1700mAh battery offering around 350 hours of standby time or 8 hours of usage time, so it’s shaping up to be a bit of a handful too.

The camera configuration of LG Lucid 4G is pretty awesome, unique. It has one rear facing camera of 5MP which has resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels, records superior video with LED video light and secondary camera of VGA with features like Geo-tagging, face detection and smile detection. If we talk about the display, it has 4.3 inches IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that gives the resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. LG Lucid 4G also has features like v2.0 microUSB, Bluetooth and etc.

Although the Lucid 4G doesn’t match up to the specs of the Droid Fighter that it was first leaked with, it nevertheless seems to offer a pretty decent handset for Verizon. Aimed very much at the mid-market this is of course a 4G LTE-equipped phone for the Verizon network and is likely to be priced below $200, although there’s no confirmation of pricing yet.

The Lucid 4G might launch next Thursday (March 29) in the sub $200 price range, but as usual with rumors this isn’t set in stone.

Today Sony Mobile announced a new addition to its Xperia smartphone line-up. The Sony neo L is a mid-range device that is based on the neo V and is destined for the Chinese market. The Sony Xperia neo L will run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich at launch (a first for Sony) and can easily be confused with the neo V as they share similar looks and specifications. However, the neo L also borrows a few design elements from the Xperia PLAY, sans the PlayStation certified joypad.

 

The handset, which is currently slated for a release in China, carries a 1GHz single-core Snapdragon CPU, 512MB of RAM, and a 4-inch display at 800×480. Also included is 1GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD) and a 5MP camera, but the neo L misses out on NFC support. It measures in at a plump 12.2mm and sports a 1500mAh battery. You’ll also find a front facing VGA camera on the front of the device. 1GB of storage is onboard, although there’s a microSD card slot so you can expand that up to 32GB. At the back, the Xperia neo L carriers a 5MP snapper capable of shooting 720p videos, while a VGA front-facing camera enables video calling. At 120.0 x 61.0 x 12.8mm, the neo L is slightly longer, but slimmer than the neo V.
