Sony Xperia Tablet S sales suspended

Sony made a tough decision to suspend the Xperia Tablet S sales because of a manufacturing issue resulting in gaps between the screen and the panel. This causes problems with the splash resistance and the Tablet S will get soaked eventually.

So, instead of waiting the users to start with the complaints, Sony is pulling back all shipped slates for repairs. The users who already bought one are able to return it and get it fixed for free.
The Tablet S has been on the market for only a few weeks, so it didn’t sell that many units. Sony managed to ship about 100 000 slates to retailers, and estimates that the recall costs shouldn’t have an impact on its bottom line.

First Sony Handset Smartphone: Unlocked Sony Xperia Neo L Reviews and Hot Deals

Today Sony Mobile announced a new addition to its Xperia smartphone line-up. The Sony neo L is a mid-range device that is based on the neo V and is destined for the Chinese market. The Sony Xperia neo L will run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich at launch (a first for Sony) and can easily be confused with the neo V as they share similar looks and specifications. However, the neo L also borrows a few design elements from the Xperia PLAY, sans the PlayStation certified joypad.

 

The handset, which is currently slated for a release in China, carries a 1GHz single-core Snapdragon CPU, 512MB of RAM, and a 4-inch display at 800×480. Also included is 1GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD) and a 5MP camera, but the neo L misses out on NFC support. It measures in at a plump 12.2mm and sports a 1500mAh battery. You’ll also find a front facing VGA camera on the front of the device. 1GB of storage is onboard, although there’s a microSD card slot so you can expand that up to 32GB. At the back, the Xperia neo L carriers a 5MP snapper capable of shooting 720p videos, while a VGA front-facing camera enables video calling. At 120.0 x 61.0 x 12.8mm, the neo L is slightly longer, but slimmer than the neo V.
